Q. How do I upgrade the Flash version? A. To check your FLASH version and upgrade follow the steps below 1. Go to the Start Game page of UltQuiz 2. Left Click any where on the screen (not the start game button) 3. Right Click on the screen and select About Adobe Flash Player 4. On this screen it should tell you which version you have installed 5. If this is less than version 9,0,124,0 then we recommend you upgrade 6. To do this click on the Player Download Center hyperlink 7. Then Click on Download Now and follow Adobes instructions 8. In order to pick up the new version you will need to restart your computer Please note if you are running IE5 or less then you will need to upgrade your browser to at least IE6 or IE7 in order for FLASH 9 to be supported. ************************************************* Q. I can not see the game, when I go to the game screen I see an orange screen with occasional plus signs. A. This is a known issue with Norton Internet Security. Depending how you installed Norton. There were two choices to either use Windows Log-ons or Separate ones. This site only works fully with the Windows Log-Ons. If you did chose the Separate log-ons then please use the log-off option, and the site will work fine. Trouble is you may be unprotected, so it is recommended that you re-install Norton with Windows Logons. ********************************************** Q. How does the game work? How do I go Up A Level and what does Snookered mean? A. In a nutshell, you start with 3 lives, the 5 by 5 game board allows you to pick any of the 4 corners to start and then subsequently only touching squares. The idea is to go up a level by finding the up a level square and answering all those questions correctly. The game tells you how many spaces away the up a level square is, but not the direction. The advantage of going up a level is that the questions are worth more. I.e. double for level 2 and triple for level 3. Please note there are 8 levels in all. Please be aware that if you get the hangman wrong or 2 out of 3 questions wrong, on the other types of questions, you will lose a life. You will also lose a life on the game board if you block yourself in. I.e. there are no available squares next to your current square. That is called being snookered. ********************************************** Q. How do Artist Bias points work?
A. Artist Bias points are
based on a theme of artists. You get an artist bias
point by answering three questions correctly on one of the themed
artists. This will be the highlighted artist (the first one) on the
artist selection screen. Please note if you answer any of the other
artists from the artist selection screen then you will still get points
added to your score, but NO artist bias points. **********************************************
Q. How do the prize years work?
A. To be in with a chance of winning a prize you must have had at least one attempt, during the period, using the prize years. You can select the prize years by using the prize years button on the year selection screen.
********************************************** Q. How do freestyle competitions work? A. With these type of competitions anything goes. There are no restrictions. No artist bias points, no prize years, just select your own years (even single years) from the year selection screen and play away.
